Richmond Cross Country Heads to Greater Louisville Classic

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. – The Richmond Women’s and Men’s Cross Country teams head to Kentucky to compete in the Greater Louisville Classic on Saturday, October 3rd. The race will take place at E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park.

The Richmond Men’s team will be bringing eight runners with them on the trip. The men will run in the 8K race at 9:30 a.m. The men’s team will be hoping to improve on their fifth place finish in New York two weeks ago.

The Women’s team will be bringing 12 runners along with them to Louisville this weekend. The women will race after the men in the 5K at 10:15 a.m.

The men’s races will consist of 31 teams from across the nation. The Richmond men will be joined by fellow Atlantic 10 competition in Davidson and La Salle.

The women’s races will have 35 teams and will also have A-10 competition in La Salle. The Spiders be competing against nationally ranked opposition in number six Iowa State and number 11 Wisconsin, ranked in the Women’s Cross Country National Coaches’ Poll.

Men’s Teams: Belmont, Bucknell, Davidson, Eastern Kentucky, Eastern Michigan, East Tennessee State, Elon, Grand Valley State, Illinois, Iona, La Salle, Lipscomb, Louisville, Loyola (Ill.), Michigan, Middle Tennessee State, Mississippi, Morehead State, North Florida, Penn State, Richmond, Southern Indiana, Tennessee, UMass Lowell, Utah Valley, Wabash, Western Ontario, Wisconsin

Women's Teams: Bellarmine, Belmont, Bucknell, Eastern Kentucky, Edinboro, Elon, Grand Valley State, Hillsdale, Hope, Indianapolis, Iona, Iowa State, La Salle, Lipscomb, Louisville, Loyola (Ill.), Michigan, Middle Tennessee State, Minnesota, Mississippi, Morehead State, North Florida, Ohio State, Penn State, Richmond, SMU, South Alabama, Southern Indiana, Toledo, University of Toronto, Western Kentucky, Western Ontario, West Virginia, Wisconsin
